Lightning Strike MCI at 13,000 feet!

DESCRIPTION OF PRESENTATION:            On July 21st, 2010 three parties of climbers were struck by lightning near the summit of the Grand Teton.  The ensuing rescue was the largest single rescue effort in Grand Teton National Park history.  The incident involved 17 patients and considerable resources.  Dr. Smith directed medical operations on-site, and will discuss how the Mass Causality Incident unfolded in a technical wilderness setting and the treatment of the lightning injuries sustained.
